Sensational Southerly 28, dual steering, much upgraded over the years with Beta 20hp diesel, bow thruster (2019), in-boom fully battened mainsail (2017), heating, recent upholstery and much more.

Built in 1978. GRP construction with Ochre topsides and white superstructure, lifting keel, self draining aft cockpit with tiller steering externally and wheel steering in cabin, Bermudan sloop rig and 5 berth internal layout with around 6ft maximum standing headroom.

NOTE - The GRP hull below the waterline (and rudder) was epoxy treated in July 2006. The work comprised of removing antifoul paint and gel coat using specialist peeling machine, grit blasting surfaces by specialist, hot pressure washing, monitoring moisture levels, applying primer and 6 coats of epoxy, then applying antifoul paint and boot top.

Beta BD722 20HP 3 cylinder inboard diesel engine installed new in 2001. Freshwater heat exchanger. 1 x 35L diesel TekTank fuel tank fitted with fuel gauge (new CE marked 3/2/2020). Shaft drive to 3 blade propeller. Note - recent (2021/2) water pump fitted, recent stern seal (RMTA), engine mounts replaced, water intake strainer (with larger filter to prevent potential fouling), exhaust manifold.

Bow thruster fitted December 2019.

Alternator charging to 2 x 12v 115Ah batteries. 240v shore power.

Marine toilet in separate heads compartment with shower. Kenwood radio/CD/USB/Aux. Eberspacher heating unit refurbished 2016. New cushions throughout in 2015 - all works including fitting carried out by Jeckells.

ACCOMMODATION:

She has 5 berths in 2 cabins including 2 “V” berths in the forward cabin, her saloon table lowers to form a double berth with a further single quarter berth.
