SELL YOUR BOAT WITH CONFIDENCE.

NO SALE, NO FEE.

HOW DO I SELL MY BOAT?

Firstly you should complete our brokerage Listing Form. Call us, download pdf document and send it in or complete it now online, giving as much detail as possible,  We will then, if possible, view your boat so that we can advise you on the best price and how best to prepare her for selling.  We will also take a full set of images.

Once the price is agreed we will prepare a set of boat details which we will send to you for approval.  If your boat is lying locally you should make a set of hatch keys available to us, as we will, as far as practicable, accompany all viewers.  Those we can't be with will be introduced to the Harbour Master or whoever holds the keys.

If you are really keen to sell then bring her to Tollesbury Marina or to Titchmarsh Marina where every customer can see her at a moments notice and where we provide a storage package (subject to availability) (up to 6 months free storage at Tollesbury Marina or 3 months at Titchmarsh marina) so that boats are presented in the best possible way.

WHAT PAPERWORK DO I NEED?

You will need to show at least 5 years clear title but preferably original Bills of Sale back to when the boat was new. VAT receipts are becoming particularly important especially if your boat is newer than 1984.   If your boat was imported into the EU after June 1998 then you will need to show RCD compliance. If you don't have the correct documents then please tell us straight away, so we can assist you with doing some detective work!

ONCE THE DETAILS ARE APPROVED, WHAT THEN?

You sit back and David Morris the job of selling your boat. We start by contacting existing customers.  We place her on most of the main UK and European web sites including YachtworldApolloDuck and The YachtMarket and some of the main magazine sites such as Practical Boat Owner and Yachting Monthly.   We then place her on the FastNet Database so that other member brokers can access brief details if they have a potential customer.   Next, we deal with a rich variety of window shoppers, passers by, serious enquirers, wealthy enquirers, not so-wealthy enquirers and finally your buyer.

GOOD, YOU HAVE FOUND A BUYER, BUT HOW DO I HANDLE THE SALE?

You don't.  Once again relax and leave it to the experts.  We start by passing on all offers.  We continue to support and advise you on which offer to accept (according to the state of the market) and ensure that you get the best possible price and terms.  Once the price is settled we prepare the contract and ask for a 10% deposit.  The buyer will normally make the offer subject to a survey, if your boat is afloat and with your permission, we will arrange for her to be lifted out of the water, scrubbed off, surveyed and returned to her berth, all at the purchaser's expense.  We try to avoid price adjustments after the survey, however, if she needs major surgery then we will keep costs to a minimum, partly by knowing the most cost-effective methods and partly by skilled negotiation.  We will then prepare all paperwork including Bills of Sale and Registration documents for you to sign.  All money is cleared through our Client Account and finally passed on to you, less our fee.

AND FINALLY?

We enjoy our work and like our customers.  We hope that you will always feel free to ask questions and soon come to know and trust us.  So please complete the questionnaire and send it off today!
